Malcolm Burgin
Work/Education: I have a background in customer service and experience in corporate retail. Have worked for over 13 years in the care sector providing meaningful engagement for older people and people living with dementia and training care staff in ways to creatively engage with older people, most of that was in the role of Regional Manager for the Bristol-based charity Alive. Since April 2020 I have been the Welfare and Engagement Lead for a 5 home care company in Wiltshire, supporting residents, staff and families through the lockdown.
Interests: Activity provision and meaningful engagement for older people and people living with dementia - especially those in residential care. The use of technology for people living with dementia. I'm a didactic teacher of Biodanza - a movement-based system of personal psycho-social development and emotional coherence. Expressive dance with people living with dementia. I'm currently writing 2 novels and a children's book. Interested in meditation, personal development, martial arts, nature, music, comedy. I used to play bass guitar in a band and I'm learning to play the acoustic guitar.
